Fenders for a '78 Ford F250 stepside

Hey guys, I'm new. I just bought this truck about a month ago. I started tearing the bed apart and the bottom of the fenders look worse then I thought. So I was wondering if I could find some back fenders for it somewhere besides lmc. also, I was wondering how rare this truck is.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to FTE,everything you ever want to know about your Ford truck can be found here, this place is great. As far as your truck goes the LWB stepsides were not the most common but not rare either, most were SWB trucks. If you are not trying to keep the truck 100% original than replacing those rear fender with a set off a 60's f150 would be the way I would go. They were more stepdides back then so there are more used sources, the metsl was heavier and they looked alot nicer an a 70's stepside than the originals dig. A friend had a set of 66 stepside fenders on his 78 LWB and it was the nicest looking stepside around, they just seem to fit the lines better than the originals. Just a thought for you.

NPD sells steel. The last catalog I had showed $284.95 ea for reproductions and $324.95 for original tooling. I'm sure those prices have gone up. They can also be had in fiberglass from US Body (online).

I don't have any pics, it was a long long time ago now. You could use Google images to get a look at the 60's style fenders.
