IDM and Injector identification... Misfire ???
Hello All,
I am a new member and this is my first post, but i did rear this forum sometimes and i did find some interesting information for me.
I did buy a F250 95 with MT, approx. 180k on it, and swap engine , transmission and frame "under" suburban'96 body.
So, please help me undrestand idm and injector identification and the different between it. I have a F5TZ-12B599AB IDM. Does it mean that my injectors must have AB code ? And for example, if a insert F7TZ-12B599AC idm, will it work correct ?
And what is the mean AA, AB, AC... codes in the idm and injectors? What will be if I will change injectors from AB code to something another ?
And second problem. When i starting the engine, or turn off gas pedal when driving on neutral, sometimes i hear misfire on 2 or 3 cylinder. What the problem may be ?
Thank you for answers.

Welcome to FTE.
Any IDM from a 7.3 PSD will work on any 7.3 PSD. The newer years are better than old ones. The new ones put out more voltage. (as much as 140 VDC). The AC you mentioned above should have a higher voltage output than the AB.
The PCM determines which injector fires and when. It needs to programmed for the injector (AA, AB, AC, AD ect)
The IDM supplies the necessary power to the injectors.
