yea give ita good hard testdrive..
if somethings on teh edge of breakdwon it should either fail or give a dam good sign its ready to die...
so long as ur perpared for repair bills after purchase and the rest of the truck is in decent enuf shape for what u need the truck to do i'd pull the trigger....
for what its worth my truck just rolled 200K miles and it drives/feels like a brand new truck...i cant beleive how well this truck is holding up considering how many miles its got already...

The truck doesnt have current plates so I couldnt take it too far without fear of getting pulled over. Lower speeds felt good but accelerating to 55-60 it had a slight bucking/jerking going on, and stupid me didnt look at the tach to see if the rpms were fluctuating (as if the trans was slipping or popping out of overdrive) But it almost felt more like a misfire, possibly a coil pack which i know the tritons are well known for and have replaced many myself. But Ive usually encountered them with a dead misfire and not when just under a harder load. It wasnt noticeable at lower speeds. The bed is beat up from a forklift putting stuff in the bed, its worse where the bed meets the cab. nothing a BFH cant fix and a bedliner. The tailgate wont latch for some reason. The truck has a $500 ladder rack on it. Power windows and locks work. The engine doesnt leak a drop it was dry as a bone underneath, didnt noticed it burning oil or blowing smoke. Its been sitting for a few months and I believe a caliper is hanging up it pulls to the left, and slows down rather quickly when letting off the throttle. I mainly want the truck for a DD, and to tow my mustang to the track ect. my daily commute is 10 miles one way so im not to worried about getting stranded but Ive read people getting 350k plus with their 5.4L's . Im getting many mixed opinions on buying it so Im kinda stuck whether or not I should buy it

You seem to have a pretty good feel for what's going on. The questions is, how much are you willing to spend in the next 12 months, and more importantly, withing the next 30 days? From your description, I'd say the maintenance probably hasn't been perfect on the truck. Of course sticking calipers and COP issues can also be caused from just sitting for a while.
It all boils down to how much work your willing to do and how much you want to spend getting it back in shape.

Well thats the thing, I dont mind spending a couple hundred on brakes, calipers ect, I can probably get coils for free....but I dont want to put a motor in it nor a transmission. I know it will probably clean up good. Ahhh decisions. I usually have good luck with vehicles for the most part, but then again Ive never owned anything with that many miles. Ive been looking for a 93-96 body style f150 but they all seem to be rust buckets.
