underhood Onan generator

Was the Cummins Onan underhood generator ever an option on the 73-79's?

I know it was an option on the later bumpsides from 69-72 but i'm not sure if it was an option on the early dentsides or not.

Nope, only the 1968?/72.

By '72, contractor/farmer/handyman specials were dropped.

I've only seen one in my lifetime, about 8-10yrs ago in a junkyard, at first glance i thought it was something a PO rigged up until i looked further and it became obvious it was factory because of the unique inner fenderwell it mounts on.

Whats the output on that?
Based on its age, it has to be pretty small. Looks like it weighs a bit too.
I run a spare battery for my rear mounted winch and a large inverter operates hand tools and various 115VAC (blender) with ease.

2500-watt, 110/120 volt - according to what I've read, anyway... Don't know how much current draw it can support though... They've got inverters nowadays that can do pretty much what this beast can do...

Even a small Yamaha or Coleman generator can pump out over 3000 watts. We have a Coleman at work that would possibly fit a little snug onto the fender apron.
