I'm wondering what year Ford started using the four wheel disc brakes. Anyone know or can guide me to where I can find out? Dealer doesn't seem to be able to figure it out. Thanks.

 

My 99 has them, but not sure what year they started. That's a good question I'm sure will get answered.

 

You have to be more specific. The F53 chassis probably had them first among the light to med duty trucks, I would have to guess around the mid 90's if not earlier.

As for f250/f350, 99 was the first model year for rear disc brakes.

 

The Lincoln had them in the 70's. Explorer had them in the 90's. Ford Superduty was 99.
