1973-1977 steering column wiring diagram???

Anyone with a 1973-1977 steering column wiring diagram. If possible could you scan the wiring diagram for this section and e-mail or PM it to me. Trying to wire up one in my 1966 and trial and error takes me forever.

haus_von_stein@yahoo.com

Thanks,

Ben

Thanks, thats a great start. The 73 is going into a 66. Can anyone identify what the wires go to? Example: LT Green = left turn. I'm replacing my wiring harness with a kit from EZ wire.

Thanks

Sorry I can't help but when you finish this project could you write a comment or two as to your thoughts and/or tips on the wiring harness? I'm looking to re-wire my 77 with an ez wiring kit.

The years may vary...but do look for a wiring manual. I only have the '79.

I do have the Factory diagrams from 1973-1988.

They are very large, and difficult to scan. Will see what I can do.

Thanks so much. Been working on getting the 66 bed to fit the 79 frame the past few days.

As for the EZ wire kit. Its really straight forward. Each wire is marked telling you what it is. I am doing a total rebuild so I went with a 1 wire alternator which eliminated a few wires along with some ugly boxes(regulator) under the hood. Also installed a HEI distributor which eliminated a separate coil or brain(duraspark) and the associated wires. Tips? Really just follow the book. I sat in my living room a couple of evenings and laid out the different sections. Front lights, engine section, tail section, guages, everything else. I also installed new digital guages from dakota digital so I did not have to worry about wiring into the existing guages. Dakota comes with a brain and everything is marked very well. Also was able to eliminate the wire speedometer cable because the kit comes with an electronic speedometer. I am definately not an electrical guy but the kit is worth it. After pulling things out I found numerous wires that had partially melted over the years. Not a very safe situation in my opinion. Of course my wires were 11 years older than yours.

I'm sure my wiring harness has safety issues. There is a bundle of wires under the box that are wire nutted together from a previous owner. Did you like the quality of the wiring harness? Any issues with cheap parts that you noticed?
