Anyone got any high capacity Ruger 10/22 mags for sale?
I hope this doesn't fall under the "political" caveat of the forum rules, but I just went to www.cheaperthandirt.com and when I tried to order some 25 round 10/22 mags, it said they couldn't sell to California- WTF??? I mean .22's are so fun to plink with, and the factory 10 rd mag goes to quick. I thought there was no ban on hi-cap mags (at least anymore?) and the same for the FACTORY S&W Sigma .40 mags- not to Ca. Nevermind the gun I bought in the 90's came from the factory with a 15 rd mag.... so anyone looking to sell a few??

Yea, that's going to happen. If you bought them before the ban, you are OK. BUT BEWARE, even handing one to a buddy at the range is technically a felony here.
DON'T buy any and bring them here--felony.
FIND receipts if you have them. (wish I did...)
DON'T try to sell them in CA. --felony.
As Gov. Wilson said, the law basically creates traps for the unwary. Note the NoHo bank robbers were not bothered by the ban on machine guns, so why would anyone intent on mayhem be bothered by a mag ban.....

I haven't used any hi-capacity magazines for the 10/22, but, it is my understanding that IF you purchased and had them in your possession BEFORE California's ban, you can buy and have shipped into the state, REBUILD KITS to restore those magazines to usable status.
The same goes for AR magazines, M14 platform magazines, etc.
(Find a vendor that has the 10 round 10/22 magazines and buy a box of 'em!)
Maryland is the same.
Our restrictions are for magazines OVER 20 rounds. However, the law allows us to go into another state and buy whatever we want (magazines over 20 rounds) and bring back into the state.
We can also order (from out of state) REBUILD KITS and have them shipped into the state.
Thank you for your service to this GREAT country!

I have not heard of any prosecutions, but then I wouldn't want to be the test case.... I have a line on a Glock pistol, but if it has hi-caps, I'm going to have the gal whack them with a hammer. IF I ever had to use it for it's intended purpose, I don't want to try to get someone to buy the line that I bought the hi-caps years ago thinking I would someday get that specific model.... I have even considered tossing my other hi caps that I can't prove the date of purchase on. You can be right, you can even win the fight if it comes to that, but you end up bankrupted in the process. Call me silly, call me paranoid. Read "Bonfire of the Vanities" and you'll understand. (forget the movie, it doesn't capture the point)
