Instaling power door locks and electrick windows
I just purchased an 06 f 150 and love the truck. I was surprised that it did not have power door locks. I have seen kits on ebay for power door locks and changing to electric windows. So the question is; "how hard is it to remove the door panel, without causing great harm to it, and are special tools needed to get the current manuel window cranks off? And has anyone ever tried these kits?" Thanks much - kbyounger

The power window kits and power door lock kits are pretty eas to install.
Torx tip (15 or 20?) removes the window cranks.
2-3 screws and lifting removes the door panels.
The Kits are sold here. Look in the Keyless entry Alarms section.

Hey kb, I installed power windows on my '05 and was surprisingly easy. Like hot71 said remove a couple of screws and lift up on the door panel to remove it and I think it's the #20 torx to get the window crank off. Never installed power locks, so can't help you there. I got my kit from A-1 electronics thanks to KC Autosound. I would be hesitant to get a kit off ebay. You could locate the switches on the door or where the cigarette lighter is. I'll have to locate some pics and post them up for you.

Cool, can't wait to see what a truck like mine looks like with some 305s on it! That's the size I'm goin' to upgrade to soon when it's time to get new rubber.

...Jus' Fwiw. (since someone has already mentioned it)
A-1 has a Direct bolt-in kit that matches all the existing bolt-hole openings. You also use the original bolts. Then you only have to deal with where you want your switches and how you want it wired in.
Also- Iirc, A-1 had released a Auto Xpress down switch.
Placement is up to you. I've purchased a set of "loaded" door panels from one of our sponsors and purchased the Ford Switches at a local dealer. Right now I just have the switches over the orig. crank hole opening till I figure out my whole mirror situation-then everything is to be switched over.

what's the sight? I have to remove my door panels to install new speakers, and it makes me a little nervous. I have to do the front and the rear super cab door's.
