1964 F100 Factory Hood Scoop?
I'm picking up my truck tommorow. Was just looking to attach it but I guess I can't put attachments in my threads? Been without a truck for over a year. Sucks. That being said, has anyone ever seen a hood scoop mounted on an early 60s PU? It is off centered to the drivers side, its about 10"x10" with opening facing windshield and a 4" hole going down through the hood. The owner says that the Ford dealership confirmed it as a factory option but it was usually seen on the bigger work trucks for heat disipation. I think it looks pretty cool, especially if it is original. I've never seen one on any Ford.
Figured out the Pics....If you want to take a look at it its under Bws1964F100 in the Photo Album section.

Welcome to FTE
1961/66 F800/1100's with 401/477 and 534 gas engines came with a hood scoop.
1961/66: The scoop is mounted on the drivers side of the hood, its opening faces towards the windshield.
The F800/1100 hood has a large semi-rectangular hole in it, below that hole is an adapter that mounts directly to the trucks air cleaner, which is offset.
1961/66: The hood, scoop, aircleaner and attaching parts were not factory installed on F100/750's.
btw: The picture of the scoop Wally gives a link to in the post below, is on a 1967/72 F750/1100. The body style of F Series trucks changed in 1967.
