F100 9" rear end in an F2

I've read the article posted about swapping a late model rear end into an F1/F100. I've located a '72 F100 9" rear end. Do the same basic guidelines apply for swapping into an F2? Any special considerations other than what's called out in the article? It sounds pretty straightforward but I don't want to run into any unfixable problems.

BTW, I am planning to do a disk brake conversion on the front, looking at the parts vendors. Any suggestions on what others have used?

Thanks.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. If your disc brake front gets switched to a 5x5.5" bolt pattern, then you'll still only need one spare. IIRC, the spindles are the same between F1 and F2?

You'll have to run 16" wheels so your truck doesn't look like it a 4X4 with small wheels. The F-2 fenders have larger wheel openings than the F-1.

Hopefully it is an early 72 and still 62 inches wide outside to outside. You've already got the right ubolt/shock brackets with an f2. ebrake cables will hook right up. Just need to shim pinion up or down depending on your engine and a longer driveshaft if it was a running truck.
