Fuel Bowl O-ring Kit Install

Hey FTE,

I did the fuel bowl R&R with the o-ring kit from Guzzle. Great write up, everything was there, pretty easy to do. FYI if you ever do anything that requires removing the fuel bowl (like adding an Adrenaline HPOP), get the fuel bowl o-ring kit from Guzzle, I did not (got Robin's advice a little too late), and I paid for it dearly. If you crack the threads off of the FPR, there is no way to fix it other than new FPR (~$50) and new supply and return lines (~$120) and hours of cursing while under (and over) the truck because everything that could go wrong did. But hey - guzzle has a great kit, and it worked well. Now if I could get the ^*&%*&^ #@@#@ fuel filter lid gasket to not leak it would be all good. Yes, I have the bevel the correct way - /| lid |\ , but it still sprays, reseat, tighten down, no spray. Run truck no spray. Turn off and restart - spray. Rinse and repeat. AHHHHHHHggggg. Did someone say there was new flat gasket? Does it work better? How tight should I make the lid?

Jim,

I have never had the fuel bowl lid leak. Knock on wood. I'm still using the original lid. I get it as tight as I can using both hands and then a 1/4 turn with a strap wrench. If you are over tightening it you may be distorting the o-ring. Are you using an aftermarket lid? Someone did post that thier filter came with a none beveled o-ring but I don't know what brand.

My bad, I didn't tighten the lid down enough. 1/4 turn and no leaks.

And here I thought you were over tightening, which usually happens when someone has a leak. No leaky now, good show.
