2008 & up v10 superduty fender vent color

As most of us know, the gas version of the '08 & up Superduties have black grills in the fender, while the diesel powerplant gets a red one. So, how about all us V10 owners get together and decide on a color for the V10 to distinguish it from the 5.4 and the diesel? Offhand I'm partial to bright blue...any others?

The 5.4l has no writing between the vents but the V10 has "6.8l V10" or something like that. We get black vents and writing. I say make the 6.8l vents a nice gray color.

I'd say light gray for 5.4 and black for 6.8.

Don't think that's gonna work - have to convince all the 5.4 owners to paint theirs grey........

Nope, they're black for all gassers. Still leaning toward a light bright blue....

I recommend going with a neutral color that looks good on all V10 trucks... therefore, I recommend either silver or gold chrome. See link:

Only objection to silver is it might look odd with the outside of the vent being chrome. Gold might just do it, but don't know how the DupliColor will stick to plastic. Perhaps Krylon paint for plastics, alas, no gold, but Blue Hyacinth looks pretty close to what I was thinking about.

Krylon: Products: Fusion for Plastic

There is also a primer for plastic that allows lacquer and enamel to be used, so perhaps it would work with a gold enamel...

Just to clarify, both of the Duplicolor paints are chrome... one is silver chrome and one is gold chrome.
