Smile Cross Member question for a Fridge

Hey, I am just wondering if anyone here has but a 300 6 cylinder in a Fridge, and what they used for a cross member. I would am looking for a restorable truck and then I want to put a 300 in it. Any advise on a tranny or rear end gearing would also be appreciated. I want it to be able to move down the freeway at a fairly good clip, but don't want a V8.

You need to check out Col. Flashman's gallery and contact him.His straight six 300 is pretty much the gold standard as far as what can be done with that motor.Steve,in Baghdad.
