Shell Gas

I used some of the Shell, maybe 3 tanks. It was good but mileage less than the Sunoco 89 I usually use, and it cost more. For me the Sunoco 89 is the most cost effective of the choices near me. I know that there are three different suppliers for most of the stations here. Now they just jacked up the 89 and 93 so I'm using the Sunoco 87 which I got at 205.9opposed to 217.9 for 89 and 228.9 for 93. Today the 87 went to 207.9, the Shell is like 211.9

Shell offers a credit card that gives 5% cashback on gas purchases from shell stations and 1% on all other purchases. So besides having a preference for shell I use it to get the rebates.
Now I have noticed a 1 mpg increase since shell announced their new hyped gas. I don't think it was because they switched over to a "summer blend" because it is summer year round here in houston lol!

I dont have their credit card, but I do buy their gas gift card, available in 25 -100 $ amounts. They give a .03 discount per gal with it. Plus I dont have to go in to pay first. Here's a good one... A few yrs ago, my too much to drink buddy was in Utah, filled up his Blazer and drove off. A Utah HP followed him 60 miles to the state line, and pulled him over to tell him to go back to pay the man, and said he would call the station to make sure he did.
