I think that the Maaco boys saw that your were going to a lot of trouble to make your truck nice, and that it is a really nice truck, and they put in a lot of extra effort.

I saw one maaco job where they did a sloppy job masking and painted over bugs!

Heck yes. It's always nice to work with something clean and straight and properly masked off, etc.

Looks really fine to me. Great truck, congratulations.

I was working on cars and trucks when this thing was new.
I got a lot of burns from that crossover pipe in the front of the motor!!!
If I had that, I would put a cheap set of headers on it just to get rid
of that skin burner pipe. Looks better that way too. Next thing to go
would be the master cylinder. Switch over to a dual reservoir type with
a power booster.

Good luck with it. I hope it lasts you forever.

My First Mechanical Endeavor

I accidentally bought this truck on eBay one day. I put a low bid on it just for fun and next thing I knew 4 days later I got an email saying I had won this truck. I hadn't even noticed the truck was in NC and I live in WI. I flew down to NC, checked it out and not really knowing any better drove it back to WI the next day.

It's been about 2 years and I've learned to do some of the work on my own thanks to forums like this one and youtube. I'm planning another roadtrip in it in May to go west to Glacier National Park. Hopefully I get to post some new pics after she's in roadtripping shape.

give you some idea of what im working with

just had a new seat put in

watch out!

thanks. Bdox

[QUOTE=Bdox;15284360]Looks really fine to me. Great truck, congratulations

thanks for the input, i honed and put in rebuild kits on front wheel cylinders, so it stops better, at high speeds....it wants to put to the right, i was thinking of doing double res already, i will check out power booster, the exhaust pipe really is in the way, havent burn any limbs yet, or fingers...thanks for looking out....i have some ideas also, i found some yellow patina fenders and stone deflector at a wrecking yard a few weeks back.. iam hoping they really close to same yellow...also saw a perfect condition chrome bumper and a chrome 63 grille, at another yard....
i beleived this was a farm/ranch truck it has heavier suspension, i want to take it down 2-3" in the front, about 4-5" in the rear, plan to do it with some newer leaf springs, shackles, etc..one of rear springs set is in bad shape anyway, so will do all of them..thats it for now, send more pics when worthy...

This is a truck that my dad bought new and I inherited it in 1996. It has had somewhat of a make over with a 351W 4V HO engine and an AOD automatic transmission along with a complete cosmetic makeover. 1965 Ford Truck by Dane Rowton | Photobucket
