Schaeffer's series 7000 15W-40 oil analysis

Just received my latest oil analysis results running Schaeffer's series 7000 15W-40. Truck is running great. Well, except for the water pump & fuel bowl drain valve that I had to replace this week .

Thumbs up

this type of log on the 9000 series would be nice to see or just the thinner oil in warmer temps. we “like” our oils but do our bearings? thanks for the analisis. do you hot rod your truck or pull?

Mostly use the truck to pull our 5th wheel camper & my daily driver for work. The analysis from July had about 5,000 miles towing and the most recent one in January has maybe 2,000 towing. I hit the drag strip & dyno once in a while - but not that often. Just more out of curiousity of where I stand as far as time & HP are concerned.

Those numbers are still greek to me, but I enjoy seeing them. It gives me more comparison data for when I get an OA done.

I just wish I could go that long between oil changes. I made it almost 7 weeks this time, but the odometer says it's time to do it again.

Looks good Rich. I bought some 7000 for my next oil change. Looks like a good choice.

Its great you post these Rich, i changed over to the 9000 5W-40 SYN from the Rotella syn and looking forward to the results i get, thanks for sharing. Shooting for the 10,000 mile interval as usual, 5,050 miles to go.

Sounds good Adam, you'll like the results (and smell!)

Mike, the 9000 has some great results on UOA also. The first time on Schaeffer's is often the "change over & flush period". Usually Schaeffer's reps tell folks to do an oil analysis at 5K or change the oil at this interval. Since Schaeffer's has an stout additive package it tends to clean the system out on the first run. It took me a couple of oil changes to get to this interval level. I started out at 5k, 7k, 8K, now up to 9K. I'm sure I could send in analysis at 9K and go from there since the oxidation & nitration levels are way low and the wear metal limits are not even close to the top end of the normal limit yet.
