85 engine swap

Hoping for some advise, I am going to swap my 85 5.0 efi engine with a 89 5.0 efi out of a crown vic. Can I use the flywheel on the crown vic donor engine on the f150? Do I need to change intake?

I would go to someplace like Online Auto Parts and Auto Accessories Store at PartsAmerica.com, and look up a flexplate for a crown vic, and then the one for your truck. If they are the same part number you are ok to swap.

As far as the other stuff, I would strip the crown vic engine down, and put all the truck stuff on it. Then it will be all original except for the long block. Also check out the firing order. If the crown vic has a HO engine, then the firing order will be different and you will just have to swap the sparkplug wires around to make it work.

engine swap question

Well I have got the old engine out of the truck and forgot to mark the driveplate bolt holes. Will I have any problems with balance if I do not get this correct? What would be the remedy???

If you play around with it, you should find all the bolt holes will only line up in one spot.
