Not sure if it is the same one, but I went in to a All Ford Truck yard in Portland a couple of years ago, the gut was pretty good on prices then.

SWEET! Now I have somewhere close to go for parts! I'd have no idea otherwise; just got the truck from my Dad.

Wow, I would like a kid in a candy store. Would not know where to begin, probabaly the first couple of items on my long shopping list would be to check out the 66 hood, and the rear window, 2 items that are getting harder to find than hens teeth.

th1567, appreciate the offer, probably able to build a truck from the spare parts I have acquired. Replaced windshild and wanted to include slightly scratched rear window and found the shop could not locate one. Mentioned the window, and hood, in the event another FTE member is not aware how difficult they can be to locate, as well as, 65 fender emblem, to name a few.

The hood on my daily driver is not too bad, did a 'do it myselfer' body work-paint job on the truck and with my pathetic auto body skills the hood did not come out out as well as I would have liked. Purchased another 65 for parts but decided it was not ready for the bone yard so put a few bucks into it and she's now running. Don't really want to swap hoods so been keeping an eye out for replacement for the daily driver in good condition, that is to say, where my auto body skill would not be required. Anyhow, hope to make a decision regarding the stored truck, if in need any parts I will email. Also, right back at you, if you need any parts let me know, I don't know how to sell anything, I seem to acquire stuff and can't get rid of it. The parts are stored some 300 mi's away in Lebec, in Kern County, and try and make a trip every couple of months. Thanks for the headsup, and consideration.

Got it...jes tryin to be hepful........I don't like tearing down a running truck either...This 66 F250is donating its engine to a 70 F250 I inherited from my aunt about 10 years ago (has she been gone that long?)....winders to a 66 SWB StySyd and findrs to same....and other misc. stuff I can pull easy...

The bed is like perfect, the cab is rust free...so...well those and the rest will prolly go to the wrecking yard cause me thinks the neighbors, the Lord and my wife say "4 old truck is too much in the back yard....

Well...I do need a standard cab instrument panel....and some Ford "big" five wheels for my F1hunert.

Lebec..that's over on the Grapevine...more of God's country if'n you ask me...but I'm partial to California...it's the mostest.

I could crate it and ship it...that thing weighs like 50 to 60 lbs. add to that the crate..like about 100+ lbs....

I'm guessing this one's worth like $75 + the crating time...maybe 'nother $25..

I'm sure it could be shipped out their but at what cost..better'n $100, I'd guess. I'm on the bloddy west coast.. Can't they be bought near Mass. for less than $200 and some drive time?

I here ya about parts, I have more than enough around my place, I did find a 65 grile and a set of 65 side emblems, and I don't even remember parting one out.

Allen, just purchased set of 65 fender emblems on ebay and suppose to be in the mail. They looked fairly nice from pic's but sometime hard to tell. If memory serves me, think I have another set some where, have to make a trip the chrome shop on a set of bumpers, hope I remember to get a quote on rechroming the emblems.

th1567, just purchased couple instrument panels for the gauges; CC with sweeping speedo, and Std. with the amp and oil temp. Unfortunately, had them both shipped to Lebec so have not had a chance to check them out. Thought I got them fairly cheap so expect them both to be in fair to middlin condition. Can take pic's with next trip if interested in just the dash, no hurry, don't expect to head back for few weeks.

Suggestion for a startup 'Self Help' forum for those of us who get these urges to buy vintage Ford parts for absolutely no reason, especially when I have now idea what I have already acquired. O'well,

Yes, Lebec is at the top of the infamous grapevine, hate to admit it but love the seclusion, were it not for the 'Santa Anna winds' it would be perfect for me. Took couple seasons to get use to the high 'santa anna' winds whipping thru those canyons, it's an upper vs lower desert thing, certainly can pucker up one's backside, fortunately it's only occasional. Traveled quite abit in my earlier years and don't recall a state or city I did not like, expert perhaps Bakersfield, Ca. Wonder what it is with me and these smileys.
