My first F150- Thanks!

Hey Folks,

This is my first thread. My name is Craig and I am from Upstate NY. I have been lurking around the threads trying to learn some stuff in the last couple months. I finally pulled the trigger on my first F150. My father had some nice ford 3/4 and 1/2 tons in the past, and this will be my first 1/2 ton. I appreciate the open sharing of info on this site, and it helped move me along in buying this truck.

I am a current Ford owner (2001 Ford Ranger, Edge Package, 3.0L V6, 121K miles). I am excited to get this one on the road, hopefully picking it up on Monday.

2006 F150 4X4, Super Crew, 5.4L, 24K miles, Silver.

Respectfully,
Craig

Welcome to FTE. It sounds like you picked up a beaut of a truck. Don't be a stranger around here.

Hey Folks,

Picked up the truck yesterday. I have some photos to post, but it looks like something in my settings won't allow it. Maybe I need to be a member for longer? Let me know what you think.

PS- I have really enjoyed the first two days of owning it!

SCRDRVR, your truck ROCKS! That light bar with those tires are just plain sweet! What size tires are those and what light bar (and lights) are those ? Im about to put some 305/65/18's on my stock rims. I have the 2inch spacer in front and 1.5" rear add a leaf.

You should create a gallery for your new truck (which then we all can check out).

Go here to start one : https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gallery/session.php

I finally got a pic of the new (to me) truck up in a gallery. No mods yet, but will be shopping around for some sort of cover soon. I have to decide which style...canvas, hard flat, or full cap. It has gone great so far. I even tugged the boat around with it a little, and it did great. Now once I figure out the ticking noise in the passenger side dash I will be all set.

I am also enjoying my time on this site. Lots of great info.

Do you have the auto HVAC controls? If so, the ticking noise maybe the blend door actuator motor. Another noise you may hear may sound like an old perculator coffee maker. Search the forum for "perculator" to find the thread. I have a lower cost hard cover called a "Undercover", it really works well for me.
