stu it was a custom cab , f-100 . like i said it was . it's been hit , rusted out badly as in the cab is falling down bending in the middle , plus rusty frame disease .... it has no wheels on it now , dont know what it had before . i still got one , a 16 5 lug , it was the spare to my 53 , but i dunno what i'm doing with it yet . most likely seeing as it's got and will use 15's forever now , i wont use it . let me think a bit and if i decide to " dispose " of it ya can come get it . i may know someone in sherman , with a 51 in peices that may still have his .... also a freind of brenda's in virden has a totally rodded 46 , and he was gonna give me his . if i can find him i'll see if he's still got 'em .

Is it possible to get some pics of the manifold just to make sure it is the correct one. The price sounds good though! Thanks ford freak.

In your first post said you have an L HEAD Big Six.

I typed the part number for the manifold (8MTH9426) and listed what it fit: 1949/53 226 & 254 L Head I-6's.

An L HEAD is a FLATHEAD engine, the last year these were used was 1953.

1954, 1955 and later will have an OVERHEAD valve engine only.

The manifold does not interchange.

55 f350, My manifold is on the right side of the motor. Also my motor looks way different than this one in ur pics. It is a flathead as numberdummy has just pointed out. Thank you very much for your time. bff

Hey Guys, Its been awhile since Ive been on the site. Still no luck with finding a manifold for a Flathead I6. Ive been going back and forth on swapping it out for a V8 Flathead. What do you guys think? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

The big six is a great motor with plenty of low end. It would be worth keeping and finding a manifold for it. Of course the eight is great too, and im sure you wont have any problems selling that six if you went that route.

Howdy,

Unless you have to go completely original, you could also find a good Y-block & T-98 and go that route.

Cheers,

Rick
