air bag air line question

air bag air line question
hey guys, i am installing a pair of firestone airbags on my rig this weekend. with the airbags i also bought the union tee so i can just fill the bags up with one air fitting as i will not have loads heavier on one side than the other.i was wondering if both air lines need to be the same lenght? as i was thinking that if one hose is shorter or closer it would get more air than the other. the instructions do not say anything about this.

I don't think it would make a whole lot of difference due to the short lengths. Now if you're talking one line being 1', and the other 100', you'd notice a small difference. But if it bothers you, put a little air in, let it equalize, and then add or subtract as needed, letting it equalize between checks. Really though, I doubt if you or I could measure the difference with the low pressures, ID of the tubing, restrictions through the fittings, resistance of the valve core. Now in a laboratory, or the space shuttle, it might make a difference. LOL

Might be just my opinion, but I like them plumbed for separate fill. Filler fittings can be side by side. If they share a common fill through a T, they can share air between the bags. You get a wind gust from one direction and the downwind bag gets under more pressure so it forces some air toward the other bag instead of maintaining full pressure. Might be insignificant, might not be. I believe it would be like a leaky bag. I've installed a few sets and always plumbed them separately and have always had good luck from them.
