94 f250 4x4 needs front axle

Ok i have a 1994 f250 4x4 7.3 diesel turbo (not a powerstroke). I was in a wreck and trashed the pasenger side of the independent front axle. I need the pasenger side IFS, drag link, and a steering box. Am i better off to fix this axle or do a straight axle. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

go with a one ton straight axle, much better and longer lasting.

How hard is the conversion to straight axle? Will everything bolt up directly or is some modification required?

Since you already have a leaf-sprung front axle, a swap to a solid Dana 60 is pretty straightforward. The axle alone will set you back quite a bit, though. On the other hand, you could pick the parts from a junkyard for a lot less. Unless you plan on putting big tires or doing serious offroading with the truck, a solid axle is probably overkill. There are millions of TTB F-250's out there that have endured years of abuse and still work just fine.

yeah now that i think of it, like andym said solid is probably i little over kill unless its reeeaaaly gooing to be abused. and it would a heck of lot cheaper to just replace half of yours.

Sounds like you need to go to a better junkyard. The one I go to I could have the parts out of about 10 different trucks. I'd have to pull them myself, but you save a ton of money that way.

I have found all of the parts that i need except for one. It is the piece that runs from the front differential out to the wheel( CV type axle runs through it). Can anyone tell me where I can buy one new or used online, I cannot find one anywhere in my local junkyards. Help please!!!

Can you be more specific? Axle stub shaft? Axle shaft? Spindle?
