285/75R18 Open Country MT

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has this tire set up on factory rims with a 2" LK. I'm getting ready to order them cause I think they should do better on the factory rim width rather than other 305's and such. Any input or pictures if you have these would be appreciated. Thanks

Wagon wheel? It's only 35" just not as wide as the 305.

super tall tire with a really narrow footprint...that's why I call it a wagon wheel

275 = 10.8 inches wide
285 = 11.2 inches wide
305 = 12.0 inches wide
325 = 12.8 inches wide

(those are just the straight mm to inch conversions, actual tire width may vary)

I don't see how those 285's would look too narrow? I'd say go for them if you like. I think a real wide tire on factory rims looks out of place and they are more suited for aftermarket wide rims.

I have the mud country tires on my jeep rubicon, and love them for offroad.
Horrid tire on ice though.

I have toyo open country A/T LT 285/75-17's on my 07 F150.

A good all season tire for my needs

my stocker 275/65/18 are a 32"...and are pretty proportional.

the 285 is ~1/2" wider and about 3.5" taller..makes me think they won't look good proportionally

anybody got pics of them installed. I like that the 285/75/18 is about a 35" tire...may not cause rubbing...but I'm concerned that they would look too narrow.

Don't worry about it, Tylus is very opinionated.

I like a tall sidewall for ride comfort myself.

Yeah I think it will look good, plus it will fit on my factory rims better. Too wide of a tire has that swollen bubble look on these factory rims can't stand that. Thanks for all the input.

Think they will look great on a stock rim. Like the pizza cutter look. In the old days used to run a 12.5 x 36 or 38 Swamper TSL on 10" wide rim until I seen them on a 8" rim. Sure made the truck look different. I though both of these tires worked better on the narrower rim and worked way better than the 15/35x15 (I was 1 of the first to run this size of tire. Bought them direct from Interco before they hit the advertizing or stores thru 1 of their salesmen) TSLs I was originally running. Have to remember we drive heavy pigs so flotation is out of the question.
