Should I keep 2004 F250 V10 or 2000 F350 7.3?
Hey everyone! Brand new member and don't really know if I'm posting this correctly, so accept my apology in advance. I need to make a fast decision about which truck to keep: a 2004 F250 V10 auto w/80k miles OR 2000 F350 psd 7.3 manual w/200k miles. One has to go. They are both used for stone mason work, periodic towing, no more than a ton in the bed and driven approximately 40k miles/year. V10 gets around 11.5 mpg, the 7.3 around 19.5 mpg. Awesome mileage for the 7.3 but repair and maintenance is starting to add up to a lot of $$$. Experienced input will be greatly appreciated!

Waiting to see if I screwed myself.....
Bought a 00 F-350 V10 Crew cab 4X4 long bed ( yeah , it's a tiny lil thing ) coming out of Arizona ( carfax shows Cali all it's life till last year ) , work truck with some dings and wrong color w/105K , should have no rust . Thought about flying out to see it , maybe I should have , we'll see .
There was a F-250 4X4 V10 Lariot I really wanted but even with low miles (60 K ) the truck was too old (99) to get a decent interest rate and the loan duration was too short and payment wasn't were I wanted to be . ( Was a grandpaw truck ). Funny , 1 year older made the difference .
So it's a wait and see . Should have it in a week or two ( having it transported- was cheaper than the gas to drive it back )
Already thinking about how to protect it from rusting here in Ohio .
After checking it out it will go straight to the body shop for ding/dent repair and I may paint it next year .
Very nice forum by the way .
SxS ( yeah , it's a gun thing...)
PS I'm going to need a spare and a radio , theft recovery and they're missing . Anybody have either for sale ( steel or alloy 16" round holes ) or factory radio w/cd you may PM me . Guess I should wait to see if they cut the pig tail first.........

Need more towing power Scotty!
It's amazing how time seems to go at warp speed when searching eBay for the ideal F250. Wife and I own a 2007 F150 King Ranch super crew. We bought it new and we love it. Despite the conventional tow rating of over 9000 lbs, she struggled (the truck, not my wife) with a 30' camper trailer recently. We are now looking at buying a nice trailer but are concerned that the F150 just doesn't have what it takes to pull a heavier trailer. So, I'm thinking an F250 SWD turbo diesel with 3.73 gear ratio should be strong enough.
Would appreciate knowing the best places to search on-line for a reasonably-priced F250 here in Canada.
Thanks a lot. Mike

Hi all,
New owner of an 01 F250SD, SC, LB, XLT, 7.3, Auto, 4x4. Had about 115k when I bought it and have put 2k on it. My first Ford and my first Diesel.
I split my time between Sacramento and Eureka but will be mostly in Eureka and the surrounding areas next year. I'm no expert on diesels but I'm learning and I'm always willing to lend a hand on projects (you get some help, I get to learn...win/win). My factory service manuals are in the mail so hopefully a year from now I'll be able to tear the truck down and rebuild it blindfolded.
I do have some questions but will read through the forum first and then post where appropriate.

Howdy all...another FNG here. Just getting back to Ford truckin' again after several years w/o a truck. Just bought a 94 F250/7.5L for a farm truck; it shouldn't see too much hard surface time (probably couldn't afford the gas!). The truck has about 86K miles on it now and is good shape. The engine runs well but has the standard oil drip at the timing chain cover and small coolant leak at the oil-water heat exchange block. Can live with oil issue but plan to deal with the coolant problem soon. Will be asking for suggestions down the road.

Hey guys! Just introducing myself. Im in the process of buying an 08 F250. I was very excited about getting it until i talked to a friend of mine. He works for the local ford dealership in the wash and detail department, and he was telling me how his boss(not sure if he ment owner or manager) has always had f250's but his current one has been having a lot of problems and he had trade it in for an expedition. He also told me that the newer f250's are constantly being worked on.
After he told me all of this i got very worried, i doubt anyone wants to buy a new vehicle thats constantly breaking down. So ive decided to start an account to gain info and contribute mine. Im a veteran on some mustang forums and my family's blood will always run blue till the end.
Now that aside, does anyone know if the dealership im buying my f250 from can alter its oasis report in any way? I just want to get the most accurate and honest history on the truck before i buy it.
