04 250 diesel won't crank, no starter activity
Just went outside to start truck. 20 degrees out, cranked fine, but wouldn't kick over.
Battery's are fine, fuel filters just changed. let out water in line recently. After 3 tries
I got no juice to starter. Batteries are fine, lights work. Disconnected alternator and
tried but got nothing. Truck is an 04 diesel and has 70k on it. Drove it all day yesterday. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Howdy all,
I recently purchased an 06 F-250 Lariat FX4 with the Triton V10. Absolutely love it, and been lurking on the site for a little while now. I have a feeling it'll come in handy when the money becomes available for whatever mods I decide to attempt. Happy new year to all!

another new guy
I recently bought a 2005 King Ranch F 350 to pull my 5th wheel.
I've never had a diesel before, so I need some advise.
When the weather drops below 40 degrees the truck won't hardly start.
It takes SEVERAL attemps before it will even catch to the point of idleing, then it runs rough for several minutes. Once it gets warmed up, it'll start fine the rest of the day.
I've read some of the posts about engine block heater, but I can't find anything like that on my truck.
I am NOT a mechanic, but I can usually follow instructions.
There is so much junk packed in around the engine that I can't even see down along the sides, and looking under the wheel wells and bumper hasn't helped me.
Can someone help me out?

Just talked to a mechanic at Ford about cold starting yesterday.
You should have a 5 year, 100K warranty that covers your engine.
In some cases there is a $100 deductable. Also, you may want to
bring it to a shop and see if there's any recall computer issues that
were not done to your vehicle. I learned a valuable lesson with mine.
Don't crank the starter too long, you will need to replace it. Learn to
change the fuel filters (piece-o-cake). Drain the excess water as well.
Additive for diesel is important in cold weather. Irving has good diesel. Mobil seems to have more water in theirs, so ask around other diesel owners for the best
fuel in the area.

Been lurking around for awhile...
...but just started posting. I bought an '05 F350 XL Super Duty Crew Cab with the long bed in August at an auction. Scored it at a real nice price and with only 1k miles on a dealer installed reman 6.0li. So far I've added tow mirrors, an ARE cap, BedRug, chrome grill, headlights, upfitter switch (high idle mod and additional lights in the rear). I bought it to tow my race car and our rally car and so far it's performed great.

I purchased them all new and I was never in need to use the plug for the diesel engine, till this morning. 19 degrees. I look under the front passenger towing hook , with no luck. Both trucks were assembly in Mexico. Anybody???
