Went to Mesa CB and picked up a tuned (read 14W) Uniden CB, Wilson 1000 antenna (black of course to match my black truck) and a PA speaker.
Only problem is... the 08 doesn't lend too many places to install cleanly.
Plus... being an apartment dweller... kinda sucks for finding time and resources to do the install. Hope to get it done this weekend. But, we'll see.
Mesa said to bring it back when I get it installed and they'll tune my antenna for $10.00.
That works for me. I have an SWR meter but, for the life of me, couldn't tell you how to use it. LOL!!!

Thanks... the tuning isn't the big issue for me. It's lack of place to do the install. I don't have my garage all setup anymore being in an apartment. So, my tools are all scattered (what's left of them). The $10.00 to get it tuned by Mesa isn't gonna kill my bank. LOL!!!

The difficult part is planning everything out so the install looks professionally done. I don't want random wires sticking out from anywhere. I wish I had my garage. I'd build a new custom overhead console with the CB mounted above head. That would be SAWEEEET!!!

Eddie I'm off on 1/5 and if you are too I'd say you can bring it over to my place but I'm sure your truck is too long to get the door down. Yours is a CC and I can barely get my SC cab in with the door down. My son will be here till 1/4 and we're going out of town so 1/5 is the only day over the break I can help out. When is your Vegas trip?

I believe (depending on my buddy) I'm going to be hauling a Mustang at the end of the year to Vegas. He's wanting to relocate out there. We'll see.
