my power window won't go up I tried switching the relay. has anyone had a similar problem to this? is there a fuse that could have gone bad, what number and where can I find it? my truck is an 01 xlt. p.s. the passenger side window does go up! thanks
is there any way to figure this out? last night the switch worked for a while, but when i came out this morning it didnt? does anyone have a clue to what may be causing this and how to fix it?
I could figure it out with a dvom but my first guess would be switch because it works then it doesn't and you didn't smack the motor to get it to work again. Also, it sounds like it works in one direction only? I would bet on a switch.

what is a DVOM?
when the window is working it works in both directions. The only reason i do not think it is the switch is because when the window doesn't work and i hit the switch i can hear the relay clicking....so wouldnt that mean the switch is working?
I had a similar problem on my 2002 F250, we put a new switch and problem fixed. The switch on the driver door has controls for both windows (driver and passenger).
a DVOM is a digital volt ohm meter or DMM( digital multi meter). Another trick you could try is when its not going up, pull the panel off, and while you are commanding the window up smack the motor with a hammer and if it starts to work again then the motor is bad. I personally would test the switch first because its the easiest to get to. Also, does it go all the way down then not go up or does it not matter where the position of the windows is when it stops going up? The regulator could be binding up is another possibility but thats low on my list.
