Pick a tach/wideband setup for me.

Pick a tach/wideband setup for me.
So I'm gonna add a wideband in my truck. Soley for tuning purposes.
You've seen the truck
Interior currently.
Small 2 3/4" Sunpro Tach.
Basically I've got 2 options I am mulling over.
1. 5" Sunpro tach with a 2 1/16" Innovate analog wideband.
Both on top/side of the steering column.
2. Auto Meter shift light/tach combo with an AEM wideband. Both 2 1/16"
Cost is around the same for both setups for me (within $20)
Just curious what you all like/dislike.
I could also do a pillar mount on the small gauges I guess... or a hood tach with a column mount wideband... if cost was no issue

tach in truck
I will get blasted but here is my opinion.
Get that trash out of your head and do not put that trash in that truck. Use a hand held to tune. Tach trash wasn't needed in these trucks.
By yourself a little rice basket with wheels and trash it up and keep that old FORD, a FORD.
If you must, make a nice little floor pod and put your junk in there. nothing will be ruined with holes and the like.

psquare, I'm not going to waste my time blasting anybody. Your truck is one of the finest on this site. My vote is analog, unless you change the rest to Dakota digital, and I know you won't do that anytime soon because you've already got a lot invested in your dash.
ps - we share the same birthday! Except you're young enough to be my son... but I know you're not!

and i vote analog, they seem to go with your truck better than the digital setup.

I also think that it should be all Mechanical or all digital setups. Combining both just don't seem right.
I do like the gauge panel insert for our dash, but I don't like the viewing angle and it's alot of money to spend for something that don't look right. The dakota digital dash is really cool.

Psquare,
Personally I like the look of option 1 better, because I like to have gauges with needles. The tach, especially I think is easier to read when you are driving because you can glance down and get a quick reading without having to decipher the numbers.
On the other hand, the 5" tach would look huge on the column, and the two smaller gauge pods look cleaner. I have a 3.5" tach on my column, and I don't think I would want to go bigger than that. Why not keep the small sunpro, add a shift light (summit has them) and then go with the inovate setup? Just my 2 cents fwiw.

I vote analog, but I'm not a fan of big tachs and huge shift lights.
If they were mounted in the dash, it might be different, but I wouldn't want to cut it up for that.
They do make tachs in the 2 3/4" size, I had an Autogage one in my 90. Solid little thing. Personally, if it was me, I'd try and keep them the same size, but I liky symmetry.
Regardless of what you choose, make sure you post pics.

Bring on all flaming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I put a tach in my truck. Even cut the dash to get it in there. After all of the mods to my 400 I need a tach to know whem I'm about to exceed the 5000 rpm mark.....with a C6. Give me a tach on anything on any day!
