Eastwood Trunk Paint

We used this years ago to do the entire interior of our dirt car and loved the look.

Now I want to paint the interior, bed and all, of our 69 Bronco. The exterior is white, seats & roll cage black, so I think the trunk paint will be just the thing I'm looking for. I like the splattered look.

I've looked at all of Rustoleum's Hammered paints and can't find one that I like as well as the Trunk Paint look.

Question is, how will this hold up to the elements? Sun, heat, rain & mud.

I'm looking at this kit:
Eastwood Co. - Complete Black/Gray Trunk Kit w/Rust Encapsulator

It has been my experience ,, its mainly for cosmetics ,,unless its a catalized two part, it won't be very durable ,,may be able to clear coat it with a urethane clear with a flattener added ...

Thanks Rick.

The Eastwood kit I linked to comes with a clear coat to top it off with, thats why I'm wondering if its more durable that the old trunk paint I use to use.

Maybe and Eastwood rep can pipe in on this.

Sorry for the delay in response. This is not the intended use of the product, but you probably could get away with doing this, but it may experience some fading. There’s a component in the Trunk Paint that remains water soluable (the reason it needs to be clearcoated), but we believe you may get away with it if you top coat it with our 2K Eurothane Clear. Even though there are UV inhibitors in the clear we would be concerned that there maybe some fading even under the clear. If you do try this, let us know how it works out.

Thanks for the reply's Rick & EWCo.

I've looked around at other paints and really do like the splatter paint the best. I'm not really worried about it fading, its a mud & trail only rig so its the initial pictures that count. My biggest concern is will it break down & begin peeling like 3 months from now.

I'm gonna try it and will let ya all know how things work out.
