I can't find the reference material I'd (thought I ) saved, but my recollection is there is a narrow range of interchange with other Dana 4x series axles. Pretty sure cars had a lower spline count and shorter lengths, I don't even think they were Dana's. What do you want to know? What other potential donors there might be?

I was thinking since the 48-52 was the same width rear end as 53-56 and the backing plates interchange that maybe the axles were the same length and would interchange. Also, the 42-47 trucks have a similar rear so I thought the 48-52 axles might fit those too. I know the cars changed to 5 x 4.5 pattern starting with 49 so if they fit cars it would have to be prior to 49 but I think they had a closed driveshaft prior to 49 so maybe that would not work either.
