leaf springs?
I thought I saw a thread on here that said you can buy leaf springs for 40.00. I did a search agian and couldnt find it. I think it was jc whitney or somthing. Anybody know?

Individual spring leaves are available in the Mid Fifty catalog for like $50 each. Entire spring packs in sets go for $ 450ish + shipping which is not cheap,...like $60. I had cracked leaves on my right rear spring pack and was going to get the individuals at MID 50 but I found a decent set of used ones for $ 50 so I went that route

So do you think it would be worth even getting new springs or just cleaning up the ones I have? They all have a good arch to them, none are cracked but they do have some rust wear near the end of each spring.
I just dont want them breaking while I'm driving down the road!

For the front of my 55 I just brought the main leaf and lightly grind off the other springs whichwere in pretty good shape; that was over 9 years ago and they are still going great. If you are doing the rear & don't care if its original you can use a variety of springs. I had rear leafs off a 87 Broncho which are the same as the Ranger, I got those from a salvage yard for $60 including the brackets I just loosly bolted them to the rear end centered it and clamp everything down before marking and drilling. They worked great they are in my 1st & 2nd photo gallery however, I recently went to TCI.
