I have '08 Limited Expy I use my driving lights all the time on the auto setting and they are cracked also was back to the dealer 4 times for 1 of them an 3 for the other dealer says I am the first that has had this problem but I tend to believe they are trying to blow me off ...at $80.00 each to replace I would rather find after market to fit instead with glass lenes any clues anybody?

 

Picked up our "new" Expedition today and noticed both lenses cracked before we left the dealership. They are going to replace them. That sucks you have to be careful when you use your driving lights. I have them on my 250 and we had them on the Explorer we just traded. I like to use them in rain also to light the road better... getting old and eyes are not what they used to be... I would bet they are getting hot and cold water hitting them could be causing this also... how about putting glass lights in Mr. Ford engineer? But I guess this falls in with the plastic chrome wheel covers people are complaining about too... I see the 2011's have "real" wheels on them again. We still like our new truck! I hope it lives up to the good luck I have had with Ford Pick up's...

 

Was just thinking, wonder if a local glass company could make replacements for the plastic lenses? I don't know how the things are put together, but when the dealer replaces mine next week I am going to look at that and see, if this is going to be an ongoing issue. Which it sounds like it will.

 

I have the same cracks in my fogs as well... the dealership has told me that they are caused from the rocks we use up here in Canuckville. I called BS on them as there is no chips on the bumper and it must be shoddy plastic lenses...

I think they are getting preturbed with me wanting my Expy to be worth what I paid for it...(just replaced my second power window motor for $400!)...

 

We are taking our Expy back Monday to have the foglights replaced. Then I guess we will see. Will be my luck the first time I drive it at night in the rain and want to use the foglights for added light, they will crack.

I don't think rocks are doing it freerider. We just bought our Expy and it had 6000 miles on it. It was a demo and the lights were cracked when we picked it up.

 

It's cheap plastic heating up and cracking not rocks.

 

Guess they will be seeing me everytime they crack until the warrnaty runs out... what a shame. As much as these vehicles cost...
