Premium Care Warranty

I recently purchased a used 2007 F350 from a car lot. It was just to good of a deal to pass up. I took it to my local Ford dealer for some warranty work and discovered it had a 75,000 mile premium care extended warranty on it but the warranty is not in my name. Is there a way to transfer the warranty into my name? Thanks for any help you may be able to offer

Yes, they are transferrable. I'm surprised the Ford dealership did not tell you. You probably need to see the service manager or even the sales manager. I believe it will cost you $50 to transfer it.

The only thing is, the original owner had the right to a prorated refund on his warranty. So you'll need to discuss the whole deal with the Ford dealer.

When I bought my truck, I didn't know about the premium care warranty that was on it until I needed to get my heated seat fixed, I also never had to pay any transfer fees so it was probably included in my deal or something.

Thanks for the info guys I am heading down to discuss this with the dealer tomorrow. The service department had no idea if the warranty could be transferred or not, hopefully the sales manager will be more helpful

Tonto57,
Perhaps you should send an email to FMC and ask them (anonymously) to find out the official Ford position. Then, you will know what is required before being placed at the dealer's mercy. Good luck and please update with a follow-up post
