Question Lightning ECM????????

Hey guys, I posted this on the '87 to '95 board with NO response, so I'll try it here? I know that the Lightnings (First Gen) were SD and NOT MAF. I was wondering what if it would work would happen if you used a First Gen Lightning ECM in a regular 5.8 truck with an E4OD? I have a '94 truck thats king cab and stepside. I love this bodystyle, and would love some more punch. I am seriously considering changing my gears out (3:55's) for 4:11's? I dont drive on the HWY much and the truck is so heavy with the stock gears in it, it just aint got much grunt?

I know gears are the most bang for your buck, but I was also wondering about the ECM, or any other tuning tricks?

Thanks in advance

I'm sorry no one has responded to you. I'm not entirely sure but I'd think it wouldn't work. The Gen1 Lightnings had more than just a different tune to them. So it may, but I dont think so. I'll do some reasearch elsewhere and get back to you.

"If there all the same apples, most likely.
Will you run into some problems, most likely.
The things you will want to do to help avert major problems is carry over as many electrical components from the Gen.1 to the other truck. Charging, injectors, etc. Check model numbers on components and similarities, you might be o.k. on more then not."

I'll post more as I get it.

It'll run it if it's going into a truck with an E4OD. One downfall is that 4-low will be lost.
