Hello I have a 2000 150 5.4 4x4 auto my problem is the a/c pump is constantly cycling when I am trying to use heat. I have had the no heat issue and could hear the air flow changing but for peice of mind cut the blend door access hole and door is working my ac pump is coming on and off in the heat mode??? any help would be greatly appreciated. The AC compressor will run in many "non-AC" modes to help dehumidify the air and prevent the windows from fogging. What you are seeing is normal operation in most vehicles after about 1990, or so.
The AC will cycle more often as the ambient temp drops, so the cycling will be more noticeable. Once the ambient temp reaches about 40, the AC won't cycle on at all.
