Six cyl 4.9L oil pan gasket replacement

My oil pan gasket needs replacement. Can anyone tell me if this be done without engine mount removal and/or jacking? Thanks.

for only the oil pan gasket you do not have to raise engine.

makes it a whole lot easier if you do raise it though.

do an advanced search, you will get many hits on this subject.

Thanks. I'm going to try to do it tomorrow. I just came back from a trip and realized the entire underneath of the truck soaked in oil. I could see a ripped gasket hanging out the right side of the oil pan.

Be sure to buy a one piece replacement gasket, they are totally worth the extra mony.

Thanks for the information. It was enough to push me into doing it. I replaced it today and it seems I was successful. No leaks that I can see. I used the blue felpro one piece. I kind of snugged each bolt not being sure of the proper torque. I was afraid I might snap a bolt. Anyone know what they should be torqued at? Perhaps it's not that important?
