white smoke update,

Hello fellow for owners, well as of today at noon the dealer still has my truck.it started out as a replaced injector, not sure which one, now its all of the injectors being replaced, as well as the EGR valve.the tech stated that after replacing the faulty injector the truck was still smoking and he dosent know why??he also discovered an oil leak, not sure from what.or whats leaking, he told me that ford gave the okay to replace the injectors and they would add some type of dye to the oil to se where the leak is coming from.I also found out that my truck being an 05 was manufactured in oct 04, guess i should have looked a little closer to the man date.good thing for the warranty,,he also stated try getting my fuel else were, that could be the trouble. now im driving a nissan tittan truck until mine is completed. sure hope these injectors fix the problem.... FFF the tittan is no superduty.

Just an FYI -

the warranty starts at the date of purchase (or specifically when the truck was put into service).

picked my truck up this morning, everything seems okay , dosent smoke like it did.I have to go back in a few days so they can check for the oil leak.they did all of the injectors, new fuel filters which i had replaced a short time agoand a new egr valve.my end of the bill came to $ 222.32 for fuel filters ,labor, warranty deductible.

How frequently do you change your fuel filters? Do you know if they checked the fuel pressure out to make sure your fuel pump is working properly? Unless they were just throwing parts at it, replacing all the injectors at the same time indicates to me you may have a low fuel pressure issue (clogged filters or bad pump) that is leading to injector failure.

to awnser the fuel filter question, that was the first time ive changed the filters before I took it to the dealer for the smoke problem.i dont know the maintenance or lack of by the previous owner.seems to be the lack of by the previous owner thats causing my troubles now.as for the tech just throwing parts on that very well could be the case.they did replace the filters again.after the injectors were replaced.as far as the oil leak, they put some sort of dye in the oil to pinpoint were the leak or leaks are. is this normal? FFF...

Yes, adding dye to the oil to find the source of an oil leak is the preferred means of troubleshooting.
