Injectors testing ?
Hi Folks,
I haven't posted for some time. Tons of work going on.
I still have a problem with my 95. I believe one or more of my injectors
are not firing right. Can any one tell me how I can test each one to see which one could be bad?
Good news, my wife and I now have three 7.3 trucks. We picked up an '02
Excursion in Jan. with 36,000 on it

You might need your PCM reflashed to work with AE. I need to get mine done as well so I can get a scan guage. Even without AE, you should be able to find the bad cylinder pretty easily. There are 4 legs to the injector/GP harness that plug into the valve cover gaskets. Each one controls two cylinders. There are 5 pins in each, center is common, check resistance between the middle and the others, should be a couple ohms at most. #1/5 are GP's, #2/4 are injectors. If they ohm out ok, unplug one leg at a time and start it until you find the one that makes the least difference. Then remove the valve cover on that side and unplug those two injectors one at a time. The one that makes the least or no difference when unplugged is probably the worst one. I don't know if it matters or not, but I shut it down between plugging/unplugging steps. With both valve covers off, you can also watch it idle and see if all injectors are spitting oil equally and watch for any bad oil leaks around the injector body.
