Techron additive on sale at Advanced Auto Parts

Techron additive is on sale at autozone until the 28th of june. $12 for two 20 oz bottles. That is almost half off.

if you like the stuff, this makes it a lot cheaper. I've found it actually works better that the competition.

No Chevron in my neck of the woods, so I can't buy the gas with it already in.

Just passing things along...

my understanding is that ALL EX's motors, be they gas or diesel, have roller cam followers. If that is correct, you shouldnt want ANY "mouse milk" additives in either your fuel or oil.

The cam followers are bathed in oil delivered by the oil pump and never come in contact with the fuel in any manner.
In what way do you say that a fuel detergent additive affects them?

I just got my X last week and was wanting to run something through the fuel system. Is Techron the best cleaner? I used to run SeaFoam through my other vehicles and it worked OK.

I was in a local AutoZone this evening; my mirror fell off the windshield and I had to get some mirror glue to put back on... any how, I looked and here in NC the Techron was not on sale, but the Shell VTec (I think?) was.

I can vouch for the seafoam... it is great for helping if you are pinging pretty bad upon heavy acceleration.

No damage done! I plan to pick up some but have not done so yet. Now I know the right store to go get it at.

Advance Auto puts it on sale right often.

I like the techron additive almost as much as I do the seafoam. I wouldnt waste my $ on any other additive honestly.
