"Mute" button

Somehow I must be missing something here. If I'm driving down the road and my phone rings and I want to hear the call properly, I hit the mute button..... What's the difference in hitting the mute button or hitting the power switch? If it's muted, I miss the portion of the music or radio that's playing....if I turn it off, I pick up where I turned it off......what am I missing here???

Does your radio have the play/pause button? It should be on button 6.

yes it is for a phone call. If u are listening to the radio and just shut it off you are still going to miss whats playing on the radio( unless your power switch actually turns off the radio station completely. ) If you are listening to a cd you can turn off your radio, but it would be easier to mute it and hit the back button and start the song over again.

With the mute button the CD doesn't spin down, and if you have it cranked it stays cranked up when you unmute it. When you turn it off and back on, there is a slight delay to spin up the CD, plus it won't go back to an outragious volume automatically.

What would be the "back" button on my steering wheel switches between am, fm, satellite, ipod, and CD...There isn't a back button except for on the head itself. I hate the new design of the steering wheel controls. In my wife's car it's a back button.
