off road water/mud = wet air filter and water in fuel light
I went through "some" mud and water. Really it was insane amounts of water, like 2 to 2.5' deep, spinning mud and water everywhere. It was more fun than smart.
The water in fuel light came on. I stopped, drained the fuel filter can. The light turned off, came back on a little dim, then went away. Will a wet air filter make the water light come on? I have the 6637 Donaldson.
How bad is water splashing on the air filter? I am not going to do this again, too stressful. 'but did I just take years off my injectors?

Good point, I was kinda' thinking that about the sensor wires or the plug as well. This motor has never seen such harsh conditions.
I remember saying "you only live once" before we went mudding, now I'm seeing how expensive this offroad habit might prove to be.
I dumped the filter can again just for good measures. What is the fuel filter part# if I were to buy from fleetfilter.com? I'm a bit confused about if the new body 7.3 powerstrokes have the same filter.

It is possible for water to splash up that far but it shouldn't short anything out. I have been in mud wher it flows over the hood and mud stains on the bottom of hood and all over motor and nothing happened. That is except for the fact that you permanently stain the turbo housing mud color and you will be cleaning that mud out of everywhere for quite awhile. These trucks will run when most others fail but you must keep the intake air clean and water free. That is why I like my AFE intake box around the filter.
