A must see Effie drag racer at Bandimere

I just thought this would be a fun one to post. I do not know the time, but is was a quick one. Dig the "low coefficient skirts". Prolly helped his times. This was Sunday at Bandimere in Morrison.CO.

I'd like to see the skirts fly off while he's going down the track. My guess is he's got the tonneau cover to increase his times. or he could be hiding a nitrous unit underneath?

LOL.....

Its kinda hard to tell what kind of tailights those are. You know, there are some vehicles (or styles) that look good with skirts, this is not one of them. They just don't seem to fit in with the rest of the truck.

Here's my tailights;

Bobby, yes, skirts on a truck are like pantaloons on a boy. I like that angle of your fender, looks like the light fixture was made for the f1.

Those Merc lights are awesome!! Everytime I see your truck I have to clean the drool from my keyboard. Absolutely gorgeous!

The lights on my truck are from a 1946 Chrylser Town and Country that I found slowly sinking into the desert a few years ago. I had to "massage" the curvature of them slightly to match the fenders

Sorry, it took so long to reply Bobby, Thanks for the complements, I dig your town and country tail lights. I am looking for ideas, When my son gets a little older we are going to build one from the ground up, I wish I could find a set of Hudson tail lights, I would like to see what they look like on the fenders, and what it would take to get them on, I'm sure they will not be as easy as mine were, although I like to say it was skill but honestly I got real lucky.
Oh, and to comment on the fender skirts, I am a fifties enthusiest, but the skirts on these trucks, Just not right, maybe on a 57 plymouth, 49/50 merc. or even 60's model t-birds they look o.k. Then again if he's drag racing maybe there is an aero advantage with them on, I don't know. but then again thats why they make choc and vanilla ice cream.

Not a big fan of skirts on trucks. I don't think there are any aero advantages to these trucks to begin with but maybe this guy found a combo that works,(no hood and skirts).
Ether way it's his truck and he seems to be having a ball with it. FYI I like both chocolate and vanilla ice cream.lol

kdmcinnes,
Haven't seen hub caps with the bar since the 50s. Really looks great. That's nostalgia
You have a real nice looking `56

Thanks Gary, but I dont know if I can compete with those chrome running boards. They look great along with your 56.
