Thanks for the kind words, guys. It's truely appreciated. She's on a bunch of meds now, no surgery at this point. I'm not giving up on the '48, just gonna get some other stuff done and out of the way. With work as busy as it is, free time is hard to come by(which I'm not complaining, it could be slow), and so the chores will take a while, yet by summer's end, the '48 "should" be in the garage and sufficient heat installed this year, so I can work on it all winter. My first post had me feeling a bit overwhelmed, perhaps....it happens. I'm off to work, now. Everyone have a great day!

Hang in there Scott, it'll work out in the end. I know how a medical mishap can put a damper on things, I am just now getting my head back above water from the fall I took over 2 years ago. Hang onto things as long as you can, the regret for selling a favored project can haunt you for a long time, but if needed to generate much needed funds, go for it. I sold a lot of parts from around my place during my time off for scrap, and have had opportunities to sell several of them at a siginificant difference in price since.
Keep your head up and take good care of your wife.

Here's hoping the wife has a speedy recovery!!!

Don't let it all overwhelm you. Procrastination is key when deciding what to get rid of...LOL. And, there is a major benefit to having multiple projects; when you get burned out and frustrated you can always switch over an work on something else for awhile (until you get frustrated and burned out on it)

Take care buddy
Bobby

Well, after some deliberation with myself, and much empty thinking while clearing brush, I've decided to just make one good truck out of the two. For those that don't know, Skeletor was my first 48 f1 project...a street rod. A relatively good (for Minnesota) body, it lacked a title, engine, trans, and steering (and most all trim, interior, etc...). I started fitting everything together when I noticed how thinned out the frame was from rust. It also had been welded in various places to repair cracks by someone with a big stick welder or something. Frame is pretty much toast. So I bought the second truck, Green manalishi, which after looking at it, thought this would make a good stocker....until I looked at it closer today. The cab and doors are decent, and the rest is rough (missing bed), but it has an 8Ba, trans, and title! It won't cost me anything but time to tear down the Green Manalishi and start all over. Instead of the 400 and T18 w/F2 crossmember, I'll go with the flattie and T5. Instead of repairing the frame and making two trucks, I'll use Skeletor's body on the G.M.'s frame. It won't be a full out street rod, but it won't exactly be a stocker either....it'll be more of a retro rod. Technically there's enough left over to make another truck, but by not pressuring myself to build a second one, I'll probably get the first one done faster. I may be crazy, but at one point or another we all have to justify the means.....whatever it takes. To that end, I redid my galleries.

PS: Dick, I may need some of your meds, lol.

Scott - You sound like me. I've got the two project MHs and three donors. Two of the donors are titled and otherwise ok trucks. Over and over I spin things in my head mixing the best left over parts into a towing rig. My Brit friends call a truck like this a "Bitsa". Bits of this, bits of that. Stu

Scott,

I'd be overwhelmed as well and I'd say that is understandable. Glad she is OK.
Nothing wrong with a little bit of re-asessment, prioritization and simplification. Thankfully, you are busy at you job which is a blessing in these times.

Ernie
