It is spring in the Rust Belt

After many weeks of pining to get one of my trucks out of winter storage I finally got the panel out and brought it up to the house. It's been a long winter, it seemed at times that it didn't want to leave. I have to chase the overheating problem, last night I had it running for about ten minute and it overheated.

Next, the F-2. I didn't even have the F-2 out of storage last year but I am going to make a concentrated effort to not only get the F-2 out of storage but, to get it on the road and use it whenever possible.

It sure feels good to bring them out of winter hybernation. It means spring is finally here!

Same here in the upper Northeast...expecting our first 70 degree day since last fall today. I'll break out the battery charger and get my truck's battery charged from sitting all winter...

Still chilly in the Northwest, and snow expected Sat. But I still keep working on the old gal, am very much looking forward to getting her working for the nice weather... if we get any this year! At least I have one of those "portable garages" from Costco now.

Hey Bob,
Maybe you already tried this but take out the thermostat and see what it does without it. It could also be you have an air pocket but that seems to usually be a problem with newer stuff. Just to eliminate the possibility try hooking up a garden hose to it so that the flow is forced through the engine and start venting any openings for coolant like heater hoses and drain *****. It could be plugged up with sludge someplace. I have had success using a pressure waser in the soft plug holes. You would be surprised at the crap that will come out of a seemingly clean engine.

I know I am thankful that the last of the snowpiles have vanished.. I know just a few weeks ago when I brought home my utility bed how much it sucked to fight with the ice and snow on the driveway just to get my F-3 rolled out of the garage far enough for pictures. I'm excited just to be in the upper 60's today... even rumors of 70

I'm in the process of changing my Driveway Winter Parking area into my Driveway Summer Auto Hobby Shop.

It is nice just to have somewhat warmer temperatures so we can continue working on the trucks in some comfort. I will be up and running again in a few weeks, I just have to finish putting in the dropped axle with my new disc brakes.

Here in ND, we had an 80+ degree day earlier this week. Too soon for such heat. Everything's dry as dust, and we've had burning bans in effect for weeks already. Sure could've used some of Havi's snow, but that last snowstorm just blew right by us and dumped it all on Minnesota.

If it doesn't rain here soon, we'll be hurtin' by June.

I'm not counting my chickens just yet. The way this winter has gone, it might snow in May. But, I hope we have finally turned the corner.

I've been anticipating good weather, and finally have got it. I got the saturn going, and out of the garage. I hope to get the newer '48 in this weekend. Ground is still too soft to be moving everything else around yet. With that said, I got one of the IH's, and will need to make room....more work. I'm looking to get a portable garage, too....before the snow flies next week, lol.

Two weekends ago it was beautiful outside, in the 60's, and got outside and shot some primer. Last weekend, we end up with 30's and a few inches of snow on the ground. Suppose to be fairly warm this weekend, hopefully we are done with surprises. I agree, its been a nasty cold and long winter.
