Question How much coolant does the 7.3 system hold?

I ordered some of the RMI-25 Cooling System Treatment from DieselSite. The instructions say that 8oz treats 5 gallons.

Anyone know what the coolant capacity is for our trucks?

Yep, 8 GALLONS pretty much, so you'd need 2 of those bottles IF you have no treatment/SCAs in it already, or were doing a complete flush. But if doing a complete flush, you might as well convert to the "Kool Aid" such as Rotella ELC and not have to worry about SCAs

What is the best way to check the "SCA's". Test strips? Where can these be purchased? How is it done?

Powerstrokeshop.com sells packs of four for about $8. I can only find packs of 32 at stores locally, and since they have a shelf life tha's a few to many...

Basically drain a little A/F out of the rad, dip the strip and compare colors of 3 test pads to a chart.

Scott, does your '02 have Gold coolant in it (mine does)?? If so, you don't need SCAs or the test strips. You can check your pH if you want, but that's about it on the gold stuff. I'd even make sure it was okay to use that DieselSite stuff in the Hybrid-OAT coolant, just to be on the safe side.
