I have a friend who lives in Lake Havasu AZ and went to Fords Kingman AZ testing grounds and there it was 2010 Superduty, of course no pictures were allowed. He also said that it is a entirely new truck, at least on the outside. Also I happend to talk to the guy who is working on the devolpment of the six speed tranny for the 2010 SD. Take it for what its worth. BTW we are out in LHC AZ alot and have seen many SD trucks running around but they are always heavily covered up.

I heard the V-10 will live on , The 6.2 will be added and be a nice upgrade from the 5.4 but will not replace the v-10 In F350/Heavy Truck , F53 Motorhome and H.D van.
All the Drama in the Diesel world Extended the V-10 lifecycle longer.
FORD will be making New Gas and New Diesels by then and will keep the V-10 around until all the bugs are worked out.
I also heard 2010 for the S/D makeover :
F250 with IFS
F350 Solid axle
Body re-do
More Smog / powertrain changes

I sure hope they dont do ifs, it may as well be called a F 150

I guess they want something for everyone ,
GM Sells lots of IFS trucks like them or not , That say's there's a market, So why not go after it. FORD will have a truck for every customer .
The F250/F350 Are so close now its almost stupid to have both
F150 for the L.D crowd
F250 for the IFS is great crowd
F350 For People who know trucks (like it should be) and use trucks, Solid axle and all.
So Don't get hung up on a badge. If it make's you feel better put a F250 badge on your F350.

There are plenty of reasons to have a sub 10,000 GVW truck, and I'd still want one with a SFA. What are the reasons for a 3/4 ton truck with IFS, better ride, BS. The F150 can haul quite a bit, towing wise, so fine if you want a nice ride when you're not towing and have a 1/2 ton truck. Those buying a SuperDuty should have a super duty axle, at least I think. I agree supeRobertduty in your analysis, sort of, except there are reasons to have a truck "for people who know trucks" that has a 9700 or 9900 GVW. I sure hope Ford doesn't go to IFS. I wouldn't consider IFS in a truck and that is one of the reasons I really like the Super Duty.

man i hate to hear these type of rumors........keeps me guessing to much, hahaha!
all i can say is that i have a 2000 model (mods in sig), and only 66K on the clock right now, and no intension's of EVER going to a IFS on a "pulling/work vehicle" EVER again!! the TTB was ok, but flawed in development. give alittle spring sag and watch your wheels as they run on the inside of the tires, BAD.........i've thought about trading mine off for an excursion a couple of times, but i just can't meet on an agreement with the dealers, hahaha, so i'm gonna try and drive it till the wheels fall off!
i would have guessed that ford learned their lesson with the F150/250 7700# style trucks. 7 lug odd-ball things. you can probably count a hand full of them that you still see, and almost NONE lifted (7 lug rims are expensive threw the after market company's)
as for right now i enjoy watching the evolution of all the new trucks, at first i thought the 08's were butt-crack ugo........not so bad once i saw one up close and personal. as for the IFS, i can see where some people want a plusher ride, like it or not chevy sells quite a few 2500 and 3500 HD's.......people like the ride, and i'll admit they do ride great for a hauling truck, but i'm just not a fan of the IFS. there's just more components to go out, and wear out quicker. i heard that the rides of the 08's were WAY better than the previous years as well. wounder why they'd try and go plusher if they already ride great for a 8000lb truck......o-well
it's always a question on other forums "how big of tire can i fit with XX" lift and IFS"?? even alot of F150 guys ask too. i always say 35's MAX. the bigger the tire the more stress on CV joints, ball joints, tie rods ect. i replaced ALL of those on my 92 Z71 an i was running a 33 tls/sx radial for a year. granted not EVERYONE puts larger tires on trucks, but you know there will be mods done to trucks no matter what suspension or engine they have in them. personaly i like a tough truck that can handle larger tires and pull what you want it to, right off the show room floor! i think the IFS would be a deterrent to some one wanting to add a lift and larger tires. i know it would me any way!
but only time will tell, and hopefully by the time mine is ready for the junk yard, they'll still have a solid axle truck out there.......never know, might have to go to a dodge, hahaha
