Running with B20

Running with B20
Do any of you use B20 biodiesel?
There is a place by me that sells it and I was wondering if any of you had problems with it.
I hear that straight B100 might clean up all the sludge in your tank during the first few tankfulls but it also may clog up the fuel filter.
Does this happen with B20 as well?
Otherwise, I hear it is pretty good for the motor.
Any of you have any good or bad to say about it?

Personally I love the stuff when I can get it. It might not be a bad idea to carry a spare fuel filter with you to be on the safe side, but I first tried it at 155k miles and never had any clogging issues.
B20 won't harm anything (unless it's winter and gells up since it has a higher gel point). Try a tank a see what you think. Most (not all) who try it are sold on it.

I have ran it a few times when I was able to get it. My truck ran noticeably quieter, I did not lose any mpg's, and after running a few tanks of it I changed my fuel filter and it did not look any dirtier than usual. The station I bought it from has gone back to ULSD so I have not ran it in since late last summer but I wont have any problems running it again if it becomes available in my area.

I tried B20 in MN and it does make the engine sound a little quieter. I have tried using the same D2 supplier and splash mix B100 in it. When I get to B40, I lose about 1-1.5 mpg. B40 I can notice. B20 or B30 is hard to be certain but I think I lost a little. I guess I am NOT one of those who is sold on it. Now, if it were a tad cheaper than D2 (mileage loss from Bio), I'd run it.

I have run B20 and didn't notice any mpg loss, but I did notice a bit (maybe) of power loss in the SOTP. Not sure if it was or not....but it sure seemed like it. I plan on running it about ever 10 tanks for lubricity. Study or not.....I'll be doing it for piece of mind. It ran a LOT quieter on B20....so logic tells me that any moving part affected was being lubed-therefore-it helped the engine! I don't read too much into the study that was on ULSD either......but I know that B20 can't hurt! My fuel filter was spotless after running the tank thru the system too.

How do you figure? I have heard engines with the plugs out spin before. Not much sound. I have heard injectors go before. Again, just a little clicking noise. What you are hearing is the combustion sounds.
With my F5 chip on 80E mode it makes one sound. When I switch it back to stock tune, it became quieter. Does that similar logic tell you that moving parts are being better lubed from moving from 80E to Stock?
What about when I put the Regulated Return on? Did the logic tell you that parts were being better lubed when I put it on?
I cannot, for the life of me, think why anyone can believe that because the sound is less, parts are being lubed. People, Bio changed the combustion characteristics and thus the engine noise.
So was mine and I didn't run bio. How do you explain that? My explanation is that maybe the tank was clean to begin with. If the tank is clean, running anything you want won't change anything. IF it were dirty, it might dissolve the sludge.
