Question for the Ford Techs

I am the fleet manager for a large company and we are very interested in putting a speed governor onto our trucks. Can anyone tell me if a rotunda VCM tool has the capability to adjust this? I know the VCM tools are expensive, but the insurance discount would be worth it. I know that a lot of aftermarket tuners can do this, but I don't want to have to buy a tuner for every single truck in the fleet.

Thanks in advance.

They already have speed limiters. I assume you are saying you want to lower the limit?

I don't think the tuners can lower it past the factory setting, so they probably wouldn't do you any good anyways.

I'll bet the WDS could do it if the NGS can't. The 650/750 limit is lower than the 250/550 so there has to be a way.

The Bully Dog Power Pup claims to elimiminate the speed limiter, and the Diablosport Predator claims to be able to adjust it from 50 to 140 mph.

I bet a good tuner like Jody or Wildman could do it with a chip.

Well if the Predator can do it the NGS and WDS can also do it.

The problem with the tuners, is you can only use it on one vehicle at a time, or am I missunderstanding. I remember on the old tuners you only could update one program, then you had to swap the update back to the original before you could use the update on a different vehicle. I have 27 trucks. If I have to buy one for each that is costly.

There might be a way to do it by flashing the PCM, talk to Jody or TW.

Valet Mode

Isn't this what valet mode does on the various chips out there?

One of the tuners could probably lead you in the right direction but I am not sure you wouldn't have to buy a chip or tuner for each vehicle unless you wanted to get each PCM flashed.

I'll defer to the more knowledgeable folks.
