water pumps

i have a serpentine belt pulley system and i want to convert to v belt, will i have to change my water pump out or are they all universal waterpumps that flow in both directions. if i have to get a new pump will i have to change the thermostat to a different kind that flows in the opposite direction? i really need help on this subject beacause its the only thing keeping me from driving my truck.

The water pump is a reverse rotation on the serp setup and will not work with v belts. The pump from an older motor will work.

If you change to a pump which turns in the opposite direction, you will also have to change tha timing change cover to accomodate the new pump.
