There is a hissing sound coming from the A/C accumulator and the A/C wont blow cold. I replaced the condensor that had a hole in it and still no cold air. I checked the pressure in the lines and its good but still no cold air. Ideas?
Can you post the make, model and year? My crystal ball is down for repairs.
When you replaced the condenser, did you pull a hard vacuum on the system before charging? What are the high and low side pressures? We need some more info.
Hissing would indicate a leak....Like previously stated did you pull a vacuum after changing parts ?? This removes moisture and will tell you if you have a leak.
04 f150 5.4L. The hissing started after getting a hole in the condensor. I didnt pull on any lines or anything to start the hiss. Now I replaced the condensor and working on the dryer now.
post up your high and low side pressures. That will give a better idea of what's going on. If I had to guess though, I'd say that you have moisture in the system from the hole in the condenser and has formed an ice blockage in your accumulator.
If the system has been open a while, you need to replace the drier and suck it down for a long time to boil off the moisture in the system. Then charge it with the exact amount of oil and 134a. Too much is just as bad as not enough.
